Marketplace Camp 2026 will be June 23, 24, & 25.

A "Bible Times Experience" is a Bible-era village involving children, youth, and adults and is generally held in mid to late June. For 2026, Marketplace will be held on June 23 - 25. Over 300 children, youth, and adults participate each year in this event with leadership from numerous surrounding churches of all denominations. The Marketplace is an inter-generational Bible times village where all ages experience learning the Bible for themselves with "hand's-on" opportunities. It is not only for children and youth to learn but also for adults to experience and learn the Bible as well.
Every volunteer must have a current Safe Sanctuaries certificate, and present a copy to the camp coordinator for the camp you are assisting.
Safe Sanctuaries is the name commonly given by local United Methodist Annual Conferences and local churches to their individual efforts to make the conference, district, and local church programs welcoming and safe for children, youth, and vulnerable adults.

Just print out 2 copies of your certificate, one for you to keep, and one to give to the camp coordinator.
Certification is valid for three years.
A Volunteer Registration and Training flyer can be downloaded below with training date opportunities prior to Marketplace 2026. This can also be printed and used as a bulletin insert in your local church.
The Marketplace is for ages 5 (by October 1) thru 12th grade. Anyone who wishes to volunteer should contact the Coordinator, Donna Shoemaker; 5515 W Ky 10; Tollesboro, KY 41189 donnasueshoe@gmail.com, or use the contact us form and the message will be relayed to her. (A nursery is provided for workers who have children under the age of five). Check out Marketplace on Facebook to also keep up with current activities.
Registration Fee - $ 15.00 per person ($ 20 if postmarked after May 30, 2026). Please make your check out to Ruggles Camp and Retreat Center.

A one-page Registration Form is available to view and print out for Marketplace. It is particularly important that you also complete the Medical History portion of the form. Please fill out the forms legibly and also please note the time limits stated in the form. Mail the form to the address below. You can also download the registration forms and save them on your computer, or print them out at you home or church.
